I have a used PC or laptop.  Can you help me set it up?

How can I fix my PC or laptop?

Selling a laptop?  Be sure it's cleaned up first!  You don't want your bank account, credit card and other personal information in the hands of strangers, do you?

You have that nice inexpensive but used laptop that was sitting in the store.  However, they did nothing to clean it up.  It has all sorts of junk on it, and you don't know what's legal or what might be a virus.  We can wipe it clean for you.  If you have the original disks or a manufacturer's restore partition, you can save time and money.  If you don't, then don't despair, though.  Most computers come with a legitimate copy of Windows that is identified for that computer.

Most PCs come with parts that can be swapped in and out easily.  Ask about an upgrade or about determining if a component is bad.

Laptop running slow?  Maybe you just need more memory.  We will match your memory to your computer and install it for you.

Are there repairs I shouldn't do?

Occasionally, some laptops need new screens or motherboards, and those can sometimes run half the amount of a new one.  We will often advise against it, but there can be legitimate exceptions.  While it would usually make us more money to fix it for you, the real question is, "Are you paying us just to repair an item or to give you advice on the best course of action?"
